For a minute I couldn’t tell

Mes Cheries,

Today was the Cheerleading State Competition. We. Kicked. Butt.

With a first place trophy in our hand and an invitation to regionals in our other, we could nawt have been happier. I have to admit, I was a little surprised that we won but Monica’s choreography was ah-lot more intricate than some of the other schools. Plus Alicia’s dance skills didn’t hurt πŸ˜‰

Friday evening we arrived in NYC via Greyhound bus with the cheer squad and checked into our hotel. Unfortunately, we didn’t have anytime to unpack as we were whisked away to the gym to practice on the floor that we would be competing on. After running through our routines a few times we came home and showered and quickly fell asleep.

Here is the outfit I wore to practice:

Warm Up Outfit

Saturday morning we woke up to texts from our crushes letting us know they were leaving Westchester and they would meet us in the hotel lobby in an hour. We woke up and got ready and then headed down to wait for them. As soon as they arrived we all went out to breakfast to fuel up for the day ahead πŸ™‚

After breakfast, the crushes checked into the hotel and promised to meet us at the competition. We quickly grabbed our gym bags and headed off. As soon as we got there we got dressed and warmed up and joined Monica in “judging” to determine our odds of winning. Ten teams had performed before us and I have to admit, they’re routines lacked the energy and skill ours had.

Finally we were up and we walked out onto the floor started our routine. I could see Derrick and the crushes sitting in the second row and as soon as I caught his eye he gave me a thumbs up. Knowing he was there made me feel ten times less nervous. There were only a few small mistakes I noticed but overall we performed just like we had in practice yesterday; perfect.

Fast forward two hours later and once again we were standing on that floor but this time with a big ass trophy in our hands. Monica was literally in tears when they called our name. Claire thought she was going to go into cardiac arrest the way she was panting and screaming every 5 seconds.

After the meet, the squad went site seeing in the city together which basically means a walk through central park and shopping. We got dinner at Brio and stopped at Dylan’s Candy Bar on the way back to our hotel, courtesy of Dylan, of course.

This leads me up to now which I am currently typing this post as the girls are getting ready to go out tonight with the squad and the crushes!

Like my outfit?

Saturday Night

Unfortunately tomorrow morning we will be heading back to Westchester where life (and homework) will have to catch up with us. I think a bubble bath will be in order πŸ™‚

An Alicia on WordPress has asked me to help her find a PC so if you are needing an Alicia and are an ah-mazing blogger, leave me a comment or email me!

Also, due to my lack of time for blogging America’s Next Top Blogger has been cancelled. I’m sorry girls! Hopefully Kaddie and I will pick it up again once we both have time.

    Congratulations with the cheer competition!
It seems all the hardwork and effort the T.P.C., the remainder of the girls and yourself put into the practises all paid off.
Even though you’ll be returning back to Westchester at least you were able to enjoy some sight-seeing and shopping, as well as fun times with the crushes whilst being there.

    • Thanks! And I just got too busy to try and host it plus Kaddie doesn’t have her laptop during the week so it kind of made it impossible to host it right now 😦 I’m sorry! All of your pictures were so gorgeous! We’ll definitely be hosting it again as soon as we have some time!
